Tentacle Ratings

A rough measure of how "Lovecraftian" the work is:

  • S____ (One Tentacle: Debateably Lovecraftian; has almost no direct connection to Lovecraft's work)

Not particularly "Lovecraftian", except for the presence of a soggy tentacle-monster.

Note: This rating is not intended as a measure of quality, merely of how closely related to Lovecraftian "Weird" fiction the work is.

  • Ryne Barber at HorrorNewsdotnet (Link) - "It’s a film that’s somewhat flawed but for the most part a great way to spend an hour and a half. Cunningham’s Friday the 13th was a good slasher because it spent time developing its characters; here again Cunningham manages to create a cast that the viewer actually wants to survive."
  • J.P. Roscoe at Basement Rejects (4.5/10) (Link) - "DeepStar Six wasn’t a great movie, but it is rather short and painless. The movie will appeal to bad horror film lovers..."
  • Richard Scheib at The Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Film Review (2/5 Stars) (Link) - "There is a good deal of unintentional baloney that adds immeasurably to the basic entertainment value..."
