For the past few weeks we've been mentioning our new publication format, the Eternal Journal - a notebook and magazine system. The Eternal Journal uses a disc-binding mechanism to corral and correlate your content into one flexible, compact and practical space.
Pre-orders are open now (until the end of August).
Below you can watch Marty go through one possible combination. As of today's launch there are some 30 or more items and variations available – a number which will grow in the coming months as we add more articles, utilities, notepaper, scenarios, fold-out maps and rules sets to the mix. It is a highly configurable system (even the covers can be changed) and it's not restricted to just Cthulhu gaming.
Each Eternal Journal can hold up to 200 pages, which can simply be added or removed (push them in, peel them out). It can also conveniently fold back on itself to take up less space at your table. The more I've used the system, the more I've grown to love it. It's both a notebook and a zine, one that need never run out of pages and is compact and light enough to carrying around easily.
Why pre-orders? Why not crowd funding? – We're in a fortunate position that we do not need crowd funding to make this a reality. No over-hyped marketing, insane stretch goals or "eternal" delays, it's all ready to go, now – however by having a short pre-order window it means we can gauge initial interest and create correct quantities – so it's a big help to us (we may also locate some small pre-order freebies like the "bookmark"). Another incentive? After the pre-order window closes at the end of the month those will be fulfilled first before the Eternal Journal goes on normal sale several weeks later.
So, welcome to the Eternal Journal. I hope you find it fun, interesting and most of all, useful! 😎
