    CBC, Jun 2018: Nexus-6

    PoC

Welcome to the June 2018 edition of The Cthulhu Breakfast Club.

We return to our natural home, the tea rooms of Yorkshire, for this more-boisterous-than-usual meeting of the CBC, as we're joined by @Helen to mark "Olde Yoggie's" 20th birthday. This meeting is also significant as it signals our final foray on Patreon as Breakfast Club returns home to Yog-Sothoth.

Come, pull up a chair and join us at our table once more for some good cheer among friends.

    The Cthulhu Breakfast Club: Nexus-6

    Featuring discussion of:

Leaving Patreon, new version of YSDC, Gravitational Waves, new Warhammer and RuneQuest, Deluxe Gamer Sets and several other sundry topics.

This CBC recording is an Advanced Podcast, featuring chapters and links inside the file (when using a suitable podcast player).

Available to Patrons and Breakfast Club supporters.

In Reign of Terror the ghoul (Guillaume) makes references to his forays into the Dreamlands, so I think there may be a physical way there via the catacombs. You could certainly run a crossover of those two settings. Dreamhounds of Paris for Trail of Cthulhu might be a little handy for that, particularly if you want to use the 1920s somehow as well.   The Dreamlands is vaguely medieval/renaissance, but also has Victorian, ancient, and even Edwardian aspects.   I have run a Dreamlands-intensive game, with a Cat of Ulthar as a PC.

How have other keepers used the Dreamlands in their campaigns? I’ve been reading about the setting quite a bit recently since I’m a fairly new keeper. I just introduced a couple of investigators to the Dreamlands via a recently deceased NPC. Currently I am running the Auction and from there it’s on to HotOE. I know there are a couple of scenarios in HotOE involving the Dreamlands. I’m interested to know if some of the optional scenarios could be introduced using the Dreamlands as well.    From what I could tell so far the Dreamlands seem to be a medieval type world. Has anyone ever ran it as something else? Could Reign of Terror be set there possibly? How about investigators access? Is it a simple dreaming skill roll to gain access to the world of dreams or is it more complicated?    Its stated several times to make the Dreamlands your own, I’m just looking for a frame of reference.

This project is still being slowly worked on... (I have contractual writing that takes precedence). May be finished next year. The Silver Twilight is in it now...
