19th Century San Francisco - historical resources?

Recommended Posts

Arlecchino

As I go back through my 7th edition books, I am tentatively putting together a campaign set in San Francisco in the 1870's using Down Darker Trails and Gaslight.  Any suggestions as to historical resources for the city/surrounding area at that time?

Have you checked other western RPGs to see if they've done something for San Francisco?  Maybe Aces and Eights?

There is a sourcebook for San Francisco for Classic CoC.  Maybe some of that can be backdated?

It's always worth checking out Project Gutenberg if you're looking for period material.

My own Down Darker Trails campaign in 1875 has touched on San Francisco a few times (as it's pretty much the biggest city in the west and certainly California).  I've found some nice maps online.
