The Magnus Archives as campaign setting

The Magnus Archives [http://rustyquill.com/the-magnus-archives/] is a delightfully sinister UK podcast series "examining what lurks in the archives of the Magnus Institute, an organisation dedicated to researching the esoteric and the weird. Join new head archivist Jonathan Sims as he attempts to bring a seemingly neglected collection of supernatural statements up to date, converting them to audio and supplementing them with follow-up work from his small but dedicated team."

This is definitely more of an episodic drama than Night Vale, and ideal scenario fodder. It's not Lovecraftian per se, and has its own supernatural/cosmic-horrific backstory, but it's full of individual adventures and a great inspiration. Even has its own Wiki: http://the-magnus-archives.wikia.com/wiki/The_Magnus_Archives_Wikia.

The latter contains a useful timeline.

Can anyone recall the other thing, not a podcast more a wiki, that is a collection of haunted or otherwise dangerous items. It's sort of X Files or Delta Green.

This looks fascinating too - very much like the Ordo Veritatis in Pelgrane's Esoterrorists game.

Thanks for sharing that. It’s rather good isn’t it.

Just in case no one was aware, the Magnus Archives crew also have a gaming actual play podcast (Rusty Quill Gaming), although I've not seen anything about them playing through any CoC or ToC.

They have been posting on twitter about running Lovecraftesque at a recent convention.

Although the horror/suspense in Magnus Archives is not 'cosmic' horror, as such, you can tell the Lovecraftian influence and there have been some references to Lovecraft and the Mythos in the podcast. And there have been several discussions on their sub-reddit around gaming using CoC in this universe.....
