Necronomicón: el libro del infierno

Recommended Posts

Here's the trailer for the Argentine HPL-inspired film Necronomicón: el libro del infierno.

It certainly looks atmospheric, with an impressive array of digital and practical special effects.  The plot summary, however, doesn't sound as though it's directly adapted from any particular HPL story: "Dieter, an ageless man, is the eternal protector of the Necronomicón, the Book of the Dead. But there exists a copy that rests, hidden, in the National Library of Buenos Aires. The mysterious death of Dieter leads Luis, a simple librarian, to face the forces that lie in wait for him while the city seems corroded in an apocalyptic atmosphere."  Spoiler:

The twist is apparently that Jorge Luis Borges was a custodian of a copy of the Necronomicon when he was Director of the Library, and his copy was secretly moved to the basement of the current building.
