Black Blade Publishing is proud to announce that the Tales of Peril: the Complete Boinger and Zereth Stories of John Eric Holmes is now available for general release in a signed and numbered hardcover edition.  The book premiered earlier this month at the North Texas RPG Convention in Dallas, Texas, USA.

John Eric Holmes, M.D. (16 February 1930 to 20 March 2010) edited the 1977 original Basic Set for Dungeons & Dragons, and played the game since 1975.  He conducted beginners games at GenCon, and wrote articles and short stories in The Dragon, Dragon Magazine, and Alarums & Excursions.  Dr. Holmes was a long-time aficionado of D&D, and the fantasy and SF stories that inspired it, especially of H. P. Lovecraft, Clark Aston Smith, and Robert E. Howard.  Characters and situations in his stories were in turn inspired while he played D&D with his sons.

Allan, do you know if there will be any UK distribution for Tales of Peril? The shipping charge is unfortunately a killer for me.

Allan, do you know if there will be any UK distribution for Tales of Peril? The shipping charge is unfortunately a killer for me.

Part of that problem BigJackBrass is that Tales of Peril is a heavy book---just over 2 pounds before any packing materials (and that's half of what our OSRIC book weighs ;) ).

And unfortunately Black Blade's operations are too small to fall under what's left of the traditional RPG distribution model.  That said, we're happy to combine shipping for multiple order if we're able to gather a sufficient group of interested folks that would make it worthwhile, or to ship to a retailer directly, too.

Allan.
