News from Pnakotus S2

After four years, Monday, 30th January will see the return of our Lovecraftian media news show, News from Pnakotus, for a second series, along with hosts Chris, Marty and Paul (me) - or as many of us as we can manage because....

The new fortnightly(ish) edition of News from Pnakotus will be publicly broadcast live from our regular CBC venue and (eventually!) in 360º video. The pilot of the new NfP will go out at 10:30AM GMT (like January's CBC) with the archive recording available to Patrons.

It should be fun. :-)

P.S. If you'd like to support our efforts in bringing back News from Pnakotus do consider YSDC Patronage or becoming a Patreon supporter. Thank you.

If this goes well next week, we may look into holding a small fundraiser to help make it more interactive and up to the minute.

As we receive new items for discussion on the show our plan is then to give them away afterwards to a lucky listener/viewer (though postage may need to be covered)! We already have something lined up for NfP 040...

We had a solid four figure start on listener numbers for the first day (with a little under 200 live).

Monday will see another live edition of News from Pnakotus. Countdown banner clock across the top of the forums gives the time - unless you're running ad blockers of course...

News from Pnakotus 040 is now out in all the usual places.

We talk about: Pulp Cthulhu: The Two-Headed Serpent, Call of Cthulhu: The Colouring Book, Seeds of Doom, Brotherhood of the Beast (Deluxe), Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish, Pickman's Model on vinyl, Call of Cthulhu metal dice, Cthulhu Invictus 7e KS, Dreamhounds of Paris limited edition, Esdevium Games' List, This Week in Lovecraft (The Dreams in the Witch House)

As discussed in NfP#40 we're giving away a copy of the Achtung! Cthulhu Skirmish Commander's Set (plus a set of miniatures). Details of how to take part are in the show. IITWI. As we mention, if you take part and win and are in the UK, we'll send it straight to you. If you're outside the UK, then to take part you must be prepared to cover the additional delivery costs over and above UK postage. We'd love to be able to send stuff worldwide regardless, but our budget is modest :-(.

Here's a video we promised we'd post for Marty:

Also, some more on the Lovecraftian vinyl we featured in the show:

I find myself oddly inclined to see how AC's specials could be made to work with Chain of Command, a WWII platoon-level game -  IITWI

"There's something like black smoke in there, it's not red all the way through - you can almost see the smoke outside the record ...cough cough gaaak..."

Here's one for snob value: a solid mercury set of dice, stored in a freezer. Meanwhile, osmium has that name for a reason the tetroxide, which it forms when exposed to air, has a distinctive niff.

I've had more luck with NfP lately (compared to Breakfast Club) as I don't have to sync the former via my computer. Greatly enjoying it; however, the potential burden on my wallet is worrisome. IITWI

I do so love this current Golden Age of goodness for the gaming hobby, but I can neither afford everything of  interest, nor have time to enjoy it all.

Please keep up the great work!

Achtung skirmish with all the bolt action minis and also using the weird war models from the Konflict 47 range would be amazing!

Looks like I'm going to have to start building some cthonic war games terrain!

I also enjoyed it.

Don't fret about the long runtime, it just means there is  more to enjoy.

If you really want to use Combat Accountancy in a game, Paul, then the system for you is S. John Ross's Risus: an accountancy skill can actually be used in a fight in that system :D
