Something a little lighter. This is a Canadian based cooking channel on YouTube that recently started a series of videos making recipes from 1930s era 'Community Cookbooks'.  These are collections of recipes submitted by people associated with a particular community and published either by the local newspaper or some other community group.

The series starts with  episodes entitled 'Is This Date Loaf The Origin Of Sticky Toffee Pudding?' and 'Canadian War Cake OR Depression Cake' (The war referred to is WWI.), many of the remaining episodes in the series have either '1938' or '1939' in the title, these being the years the cookbooks date from. The value of the series, apart from giving Keepers ideas for something they might serve to the players at the table, is that in making the recipes there is some discussion of context, including just why in some old recipes all you get is a list of ingredients and what may have been intended for use in the recipe where this is only vaguely stated. This is valuable to help understand the mindset of rural people in the past.

I'm linking to a recently posted 'fanvid' devoted to robots depicted in film between the 1920s and the 1970s (The Dalek's also get a look in there for some reason or other...). Any of the 1950s Robots (Tobor (00:10), Chani (00:38), the 'Colossus of New York' (00:07), etc) would be perfect for an Atomic Age game, but the real highlight are some clips from 'The Phantom Creeps' a 1939 serial that was the last time Bela Lugosi got top billing in anything and perfect for Pulp Era (or possibly certain parts of 'Day of the Beast'...). They start at 00:13 seconds into the video and are scattered throughout the rest of the video. There is also a scene at 05:06 from 'Metropolis', that if you're burning a witch in a Dark Ages game should be a clear signal to run away as fast as you can...

The trailer for the one 1950s 'robot monster' film that I know did not appear in the fanvid I linked to previously, 1954's 'Gog', for anyone who wants to change the appearance of the NWI robot...
