It pretty much depends how much news we have and how chatty we are on the day. ;)

So we can see an hour plus show then ;)

news-from-pnakotus-logo.jpgSooo, what does a podcast sound like with absolutely no content or equipment prep?

It sounds like News from Pnakotus 003.

I completely forgot that Chris was turning up to record NfP until I opened the front door of Innsmouth House. (That'll teach me for not marking the calendar properly.)

Anyway, here it is. Apologies for my microphone running hot, especially in the first 10 minutes of the show. It was literally a scrabble to set everything up and gather some news.

"Surprise!"

Download News from Pnakotus 003 (14 MB) Running time: 29:36

Notes on the Show:

The rumour of a Dragonmeet Special Edition of Bookhounds of London has now been confirmed.

I.N.J. Culbard who adapted and illustrated the new At the Mountains of Madness graphic novel will be at the Thought Bubble Comic Convention this weekend.

There's also a fresh perspective on the Mythos by children and new takes on the Mythos by art students. Ladbroke Productions have released their audio adaptation of At the Mountains of Madness and Yoggies can get a discount (extended until Boxing Day and now includes everything in the Ladbroke Productions store) with the code: yogspokendiscount.

NfP 004 should be better prepared. All errors remain mine. ;)

LOL, great show guys, very informative as always. You should have started the show with Chris ringing the doorbell and Paul answering sounding all sleepy and wearing footy pajamas, just to emphasize its last minute / impromptu nature.

Love the show,

Dr.V

Hope you enjoy thoughtbubble! I went there last year; it's a lot of fun. I wish I could have gone again, but the economics of it worked against me! ;)

news-from-pnakotus-logo.jpgNot hail, nor snow, not wind nor rain. We carry on regardless with... News from Pnakotus 004.

Recorded on Phillips, the binaural head, since he was already in place for a following games session (The Pale God).

"We Three Friends of HPL Are"

News from Pnakotus 004

This show is sponsored by Innsmouth House. Featuring special guest: Nick Marsh

Download News from Pnakotus 004 (31 MB) Running time: 43:08

Additional Notes on the Show:

Secret Shoggoth gifts are on their way. We had over 50 participants this year (a new record). The Yith Cycle book may not have the updated/corrected text for Shadow Out of Time, but there is a Cthulhu/Mythos Database that could do with such entries.

Centipede Press have launched an annual Weird Fiction Review and we've been asked to mention the Eschatology web zine (that Nick was careful to pronounce) for Lovecraftian Flash Fiction. Speaking of web sites, Dark Mythos has an Arkham Horror competition running until 17th December. Chris provides more juicy information about what the next episode of the H.P. Lovecraft Literary Podcast has in store.

Not quite the 15-20 minutes we try to aim for, but we somehow fill the air.

We tend to put the YSDC shows out on the podcast feed first (www.yog-sothoth.com/podcast.xml) and then post elsewhere. So if you want it first, that's the way to get it!

The longest the show the better guys, so, don't worry about getting this done in the 15-25 minutes time frame. I love listening to your news while driving home and it takes me from 45-80 minutes. You sounded like really commited to get everything done fast...lol

Thanks for doing all the research that I don't have time to do.

And for the next show, can you guys find some news on the Pegasus Spiele BtMoM? :)

Cheers!

news-from-pnakotus-logo.jpgThe last News from Pnakotus for 2010!

"A Qualified Success"

News from Pnakotus 005

This show is sponsored by Innsmouth House.

Download News from Pnakotus 005 (20 MB) Running time: 42:07

Additional Notes on the Show:

Well done to Chad Bowser, Andi Newton and friends for winning a Golden Geek award for Cthulhu Invictus. Joshr is offering a free Christmas story to those who want it meanwhile Hippocampus Press is running short on some of its volumes.

Will Hart over at Cthulhuwho1 has begin reading various Lovecraft works including At The Mountains of Madness, but if you spot any Elder Things, they may just be paper ones, or perhaps a paper-based Cthulhu card?

In Arizona next month? Why not pop by MythosCon?

We also have a new postal address which is fully active!

Where was that variation of Halleluja! from, used in the closing of Pnakotus 004? Is there anywhere to download it?

"A Qualified Success"

News from Pnakotus 005

Just to clarify, Invictus won Best Suplement Award, no Best RPG Award since it is not a stand alone setting. Check all winners here :)

Yes, that's correct for clarification Cthulhu Invictus won the "Best RPG Supplement" award, being a supplement for Call of Cthulhu rather than a stand alone game.

Contests, Paul!

Very fortuitous timing of that award for Invictus and the Leagacy of Arrius Lurco, too. Looks like that setting is about to really take off.

Just finished it. Thank you guys for bringing once again all that there is to know on the world of Cthulhu. Honestly, I had noticed a scary out-of-magnitude increase in my Lovecraft obsession since listening to your show and to YogRadio in general. Those publishers out there should be really thankful cause I know I am not the only one affected by this “disease”.

And I agree with Chris on the fact that you Paul are too humble, all the great stuff that we get for free out of your effort and commitment to this community should be rewarded somehow. The least we can do is help you support the site and your business.

Merry holidays to both of you and hope to hear you again soon.

PS: I by no means intended to challenge the Gods of Pnakotos with my previous comment. I just wanted to clarify an insignificant, almost non-existent mistake, on the wave of excellent news we got from the high priests.

Hail!

Oh I've definitely bought some things after hearing them discussed on this new podcast. So publishers should be very pleased!

It's by the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society from their album, A Very Scary Solstice. You can pick up the album directly from the HPLHS or from Innsmouth House.
