Also received in the Innsmouth House mailbox, The Grognard Files 2017 Annual!

An unashamed nostalgia-fest from @dirkdice with a loving nod to a certain British roleplaying magazine of the '70s & '80s, and featuring a Russ Nicholson cover...

Makes me want to watch those Ian Livingstone interviews again. :-)

More cards, from the British Museum, to Oaxaca, to Providence.

@HomoLupusDomesticus investigates further archaeological sites in Mexico...

@Galbraith graduates from Brown University and advises on doughnuts - which we will seek out the next time we're there (seriously).

@MartyJopson sends a postcard from the BM in lieu of being able to make July's Cthulhu Breakfast Club. The Hokusai exhibition has proved extremely popular - it's not all about The Great Wave...

Atzompa and San José Mogote, both lovely trips to take from Oaxaca city's taxi terminal. If the San José Mogote "museum" is closed, just ask a villager if someone can open it for you.

Did you notice the card took 4 months to get to you... I have no idea what happened. We posted it at a fairly large post office in Mexico City.

They can take a while, but we eventually get them!

Here's two cards received from @Buchhalter:

Postcard #222 and trip to Naples, but alas work precluded further exploration of the Catacombs (however I hear the pizza's good).

Another trip, this time to Wales, and Dolbadarn Castle. I fear B. may have arrived too late!

Thanks again to everyone who sends in a postcard, we always love receiving them.

A slew of cards (and a letter), all read out on the September edition of The Cthulhu Breakfast Club.

Looks like @Pookie and Louise didn't quite have enough Magic Points...

@wrieder66 has been on quite a trip - Hawaii to Providence - but it seems there was trouble brewing at NecronomiCon 2017...

@WaynePeters provides photographic evidence of the last sighting of Professor Barrington-Smythe in his quest for the Afanc (along with some tongue-twisting words - to me at least).

Finally a letter from Joey, who has heard across the oceans of my stationery predilections. - "Old Tech" is the new "New Tech"! (Well, maybe not, but quite enjoyable). ;-)

A postcard from @yockenthwaite in St. Andrews, details discovery of secret British Army training techniques. Tea and cake help fortify against the rigours of research.

@Buchhalter visits ancient standing stones (and brochs) in the isles of Scotland and some of the Lewis Chessmen have made their way back (at least for a little while)...

It's definitely cooling here at Innsmouth House at this time of year, but that's nothing compared to what it must be like in Alaska right now. @AdamAlexander writes from Juneau with some very kind words.

Of course a storm front came through the last night I was there and caused flight delays on departure day. That’s what I get for boasting about the sunshine.

One of the more challenging postcards to get onto the site!

A message from @yockenthwaite visiting St. Andrew's and stopping by the picturesque fishing village of Crail. If the angles look odd it's probably my photography... probably...  :8E:

Glad it arrived! I had to pause before folding it, to make sure I was doing it right! Innes bookshop / newsagent in South Street, St Andrews had quite a number of these long triple sized folding postcards. I've never seen them before. The shop also gave us the wee sticky plastic sealer for it. Again another moment for pausing and taking care, in between drinking my latte tea :)

My neighbours keep giving me funny looks. The latest was addressed to Yog-Sothoth team. The bloke in the sewing machine repair place gave me a long hard look and asked "is this you?"

Postcards received!

We have a couple from @Maccabeus, written in Ancient Greek. We had them translated live on June's Cthulhu Breakfast Club.

postcard-235.jpgpostcard-235a.jpg

We also received two postcards from @WinstonP, featuring picturesque Vermont and the upcoming cover of The Arkham Gazette issue 4!

postcard-237.jpgpostcard-237a.jpg

We've loved receiving postcards over the past nine years, it's been a wonderful analogue tradition in an age of digital. Alas it appears all good things must come to an end, as this summer our Leeds postbox closes. We should be able to receive more cards and notes until August 2018 so if you would like a chance to send us something you've got about a month!

We've had PO Boxes off and on for 20 years and have looked into alternatives but nothing viable has arisen. We will be sad to see it go but it's been a fantastic run - as this thread will attest... Please, do look back over almost a decade of communications sent to Yog-Sothoth and well over 200 postcards, notes, letters and mystery mail!

Thank you.
