Synopsis
Spoiler Section (Highlight to Read)
Rachael Hayward, a distant friend of one or more of the investigators has tried to kill themselves. Her words in the hospital and the comments of the doctors treating her point to something being seriously wrong. Searching her apartment provides more clues including a strange drug and evidence that whatever she was into has damaged the nature of reality. The evidence points to a Dr Tarrou, a psychologist with some very "non-standard" (but non-Mythos.) ideas about reality and whose willingness to use his patients as test subjects has driven more than one of them to madness.

Keeper Comments
Comments to Keepers about this scenario; Possibly how to run it successfully. Keep general DISCUSSION on the talk page.
- As with all scenarios using an event happening to a friend (In this case a distant one.), Keepers need to establish the relationship before hand if this is being run as part of a campaign that has already started. If the scenario is being used to start a campaign, this becomes more difficult but should be attempted.
- A suggested follow on scenario (Assuming the Keeper can locate a copy.) would be Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This which was published in Skeleton Crew magazine in 1991. Making the NPC that contacts the PCs in that scenario the person who treated Rachel Hayward after the events of this scenario greatly strengthens the hook.
