This adventure begins on a quiet Christmas Eve -- the Investigators are gathering at one of their houses, when unexpectedly a parcel is delivered with a label "Do not open until X-mas". When opened, the package contains a strange gift from the host's Uncle James, an odd curved blade. Unfortunately this knife is more than it appears. James, knowing his nephew's passion for unusual things, purchased this blade from the estate of a cultist. It is actually a powerful artifact dedicated to Chaugnar Faun, and can be used in a ritual to bring that terrible god from his slumber. Not long after sending the package, Uncle John was killed by a fanatical group of Tcho-tchos intent on just that. Before killing him, the Tcho-tcho learned where the blade had been sent.
Late on Christmas eve, the evil Tcho-tcho begin their systematic search of the Investigator's neighborhood, climbing from roof to roof. A small child spots the squat figures and believes he has seen Santa's elves at work. But the foul murders that follow are anything but festive. The Tcho-tcho only have a few days to recover the blade -- the ritual must be cast in conjunction with the eclipse on December 30. It is up to Investigators to hold their ground against the increasingly desparate wave of degenerate Tcho-tchos.
