Summary

The Hunt for Kid Richter is an introductory scenario, making use of the rules for running cinematic Wild West Call of Cthulhu adventures presented in The Good, the Bad and the Utterly Insane.

The characters, possibly from widely disparate backgrounds, share a common desire to hunt down Frank "Kid" Richter, a nasty outlaw and drunk who has been terrorizing several states in the South-West.

The tone of the scenario particularly evokes the Spaghetti Western sub-genre.

Synopsis

This short scenario is really just a few encounters aimed at getting a disparate group of characters together in pursuit of a common goal, the eponymous "Kid" Richter. It contains no Mythos elements, instead leading the characters into a shoot-out with the bad guys which, if they survive, yields them part of a treasure map. The map leads to something called the Golden Scorpion, a pagan idol with which it's promised there's considerable supernatural phenomena associated. It's suggested that the far longer scenario to find the Golden Scorpion will be presented in a later issue of the magazine or as a special separate issue.
