Synopsis

 Spoiler Section (Highlight to Read)
Unbeknownst to the Investigators Darke was a cultist who was killed while attempting to free a shoggoth imprisoned beneath a set of standing stones near the village of Bayou Perdu. The locals know of this and perform an annual ritual to keep the thing bound. However before he was killed Darke contacted other cultists who will arrive in the village at the same time as the Investigators. They must correctly work out who the real foe is to prevent the shoggoth from being freed.

Keeper Comments

  • There are no maps or handouts supplied with the scenario so Keepers should make their own.
  • The murder victim is described as an authority on folk superstitions and a noted occultist associated with Marshall University in Indiana, Keepers should consider creating papers or books written by him for use in their campaign, this might give the players a stronger reason to follow up his death, particularly if they have proved useful in a past scenario.

Comments to Keepers about this scenario; Possibly how to run it successfully. Keep general DISCUSSION on the talk page.
