Players should not read any further.

 Spoiler Section (Highlight to Read)
The investigators are contacted by a reporter looking into the mysterious death of a Hollywood screenwriter. The screenwriter had inadvertently made use of a spell to summon a Hound of Tindalos he had found in a copy of Nameless Cults. The investigators must determine just what happened and stop the film from going ahead, without bringing the Hound down upon themselves.

The copy of Nameless Cults mentioned in the scenario is not available for player consultation. If they investigate they will find that it has been stolen from the bookshop. Following up this theft was intended to form part of a future scenario or scenarios by the author that were either never written or remain unpublished.

Keeper Comments

  • This scenario could be used as the beginning of a San Francisco based campaign, the long gap between this scenario and the Statue of the Sorceror, could be a problem, other scenarios from the Secrets of San Francisco could be used to fill in this period.
  • As the scenario is intended to tie into the later scenario the Statue of the Sorceror at least one of the investigators needs to be associated with the University of San Francisco, Archaeology Department.
