Synopsis

Brian Burnham, the young manager of the First National Grocery in Innsmouth, meets local girl, Ruth Billingham, and the two plan to run off together. Part of their plan involves breaking into the safe of Ruth's father's store and taking its "treasure". Unluckily, they are caught in the act and Brian is put in jail. Brian's boss, Arthur Anderson, reports him missing to the Arkham police, however, the Innsmouth police tell them that Brian escaped arrest and fled the town. Anderson, suspecting this story to be false, brings in the investigators to help find him. After following the clues, they must break Brian out of jail, meet up with Ruth, and escape the town alive.
