Synopsis

 Spoiler Section (Highlight to Read)
Unbeknownst to the Investigators, their friend is a cultist. Part of a cult called "The Branch and the Serpent" which has been blending the supernatural and science for hundreds of years, the friend was part of a team which designed a process that allows the cult to summon and contain Hounds of Tindalos within specially modified computers. Convinced that he's not been given the recognition he deserves, he has come up with an elaborate plan to use some convenient stooges (The Investigators.) to discredit his bosses.

Keeper Comments

  • The author rightly suggests that a Keeper running this scenario establish the friend well in advance of when they plan to run the scenario (Perhaps during character generation.) to give the Investigators the strongest possible motivation to investigate what's happened to them.
  • Keepers have to be prepared to create/provide maps of key locations as none are provided with the scenario, the friends house is clearly described by the author. The second major location however much more sketchy described in nature with the author suggesting that the Keeper use the design of an office building local to their area as the basis for this.
