I ran the conclusion of The Haunting this past weekend for my group. It can be found at my journal at:

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

PCs were Benjamin Willows, Tommy O'Sullivan, and Jonathon Ransom.

Feedback would be welcome. Sorry this one is so long but I taped many of the conversations.

Another entry for the game I ran this past weekend: The Blackwell Horror from the Unbound Book #1. Same location:

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

It's Blackwell Horror pt 1 and pt 1.5.

PCs were Father Matthew Golden, Benjamin Willows, Edmund Parker, and Tommy O'Sullivan.

Sorry about the length. I went a little nuts with the tape recorder. This is even condensed from the actual conversations but the role-playing was just great. Feedback is always welcome.

My god, that's a lot of typing. You said 'tape recorder'? Am I given to understand you use an old fashioned tape recorder to record your sessions then type all of it up?

Wow.

That's too much typing and reading for me, but if you ever get into MP3s and post them up in the Yog radio section I'd be delighted to listen.

Another entry, a second try at Blackwell Horror was attempted this weekend - The Blackwell Horror, pt. 2:

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

PCs this time were Father Matthew Golden, Benjamin Willows, Tommy O'Sullivan. They had a chance to escape the town, regroup, and return, but didn't take it ... the fools!

Two dead PCs (both killed by dominated good guys), one guy who didn't play had his character escape, and poor Mr. Willows also got away ... barely. The guy playing Tommy Sullivan has grown to hate the game but I warned him that he can't act like it's D&D - the villains usually have a good deal of power and rushing in means death.

The final installment of the Blackwell Horror was finally played this past weekend. It's at:

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

The PCs are obvious I supposed. Elliot Macy (dilletante), Derek Montgomery (back from the second Crack'd and Crook'd Manse - a merchant marine), Benjamin Willows (assistant curator of the College Exhibit Museum), Chip Mathers (bounty hunter who took part in Punitive Measures), Vito Capelli (gangster), and Professor Beaurigard Johanson (archaeology professor at Miskatonic U).

With such a large, heavily-armed, and prepared party, they did very well. However, were the things thrown into the well destroyed? What of the cultists that still live? Only time will tell.

Two more entries for one game session. This time it's "Mr. Corbitt" from Mansions of Madness. I did no taping but they did so much this time, it turned out quite long.

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

Characters are Benjamin Willows (curator), Professor Beaurigard Johanson (archeology professor at Miskatonic U), Eliott Macy (dilletante), Chip Mathers (bounty hunter), Vito Capelli (gangster), and Derek Montgomery (merchant marine).

There are spoilers.

They've got a podcast of my write up of Punitive Measures for anyone who wants to listen. It's slightly different from the original journal entry.

The newest (and longest) entries for my Call of Cthulhu game are now at my journal at:

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

This time it's the intro to "City Beneath the Sands" and the scenario "Old Fella That Bunyip" from Terror Australis. The characters are Mr. Willows (Asst. Curator of the University Exhibit Museum), Liam Smith (Irish private investigator), and Chip Mathers (Bounty Hunter and veteran of the Punitive Expedition and Great War).

I apologize for the length of the entry but Old Fella has a huge wealth of information, all of it wonderfully written.

This is full of spoilers too, by the way.

We played Call of Cthulhu last weekend and the role-playing journal entry for it may be found at:

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

The three characters (Liam Smith, detective; Chip Mathers, veteran and bounty hunter; and Benjamin Willows, museum curator) have tromped into the outback in "City Beneath the Sands" from Terror Australis.

This one has numerous spoilers and not one sanity check for the first part of the adventure.

For anyone interested, I've posted the role playing journal for the most recent Call of Cthulhu game: City Beneath the Sand. It's at:

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

Characters are:

Ellit Macy (dilletante)
Alan Knight (bartender)
Professor Johanson (professor of archaeology)
Benjamin Willows (Curator of the Miskatonic University Exhibit Museum)
Chip Mathers (bounty hunter)
Liam Smith (private investigator)

Pretty good game.

Exploration was kind of glossed over in an attempt to find the villain but they still saw more than they probably wanted. I especially liked the role-playing when Professor's Cowles, Dodge, and Johanson saw the Titan Horror and were not able to describe it until Willows threatened to go look himself and none of them wanted him see the horror they had seen. Kakakatak was pretty cool too.

Spoilers

I ran ‘Spirits Over Arkham’ by Terry White at a tiny little convention a friend set up this past weekend. The journal entry can be found here:

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

The characters were (in order of appearance):

Bionka Weathersby (writer)
Harold Fisk (treasure hunter)
Father Gerald Webber (Catholic priest)
Jacob Silverman (archeologist)
Stephanos Covenant (Agency Detective)

and [replacing the character who gets killed ...]

Jebediah Hook (farm hand)

Those playing Bionka, Harold, and Stephanos had never played before and I think everyone had a good time. They got pretty much all the research done and were just exploring the house when I ran out of time. It’s a decent adventure with a LOT of possible props (most of which I got made up beforehand).

We finished up “The Horror in the Glen” last weekend. The characters are Benjamin Willows (assistant curator of the University Exhibit Museum), Liam Smith (private detective), and Chip Mathers (bounty hunter). It can be viewed here:

Finally played Call of C’thulhu again. This time it is their first foray into Innsmouth with “The Crawford Inheritance.” The journal entry can be found here:

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

Characters are:

• Professor Beaurigard Johanson - Asst. Prof of Archaeology at Miskatonic University (DJ)
• Veronica Vale - Flapper and Johanson’s distant cousin (Mel)
• Chip Mathers - Bounty Hunter and veteran of WWI and the Punitive Expedition

This was a rather slow on as I was trying to set the scene and the mood on this introduction to the shadowed town.

Played The Crawford Inheritance again finally and a little progress was made. It can be read at:

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

Characters are:

• Benjamin Willows - museum curator
• Professor Beurigard Johanson - Professor of Archaeology at Miskatonic University
• Veronica Vale - Professor Johanson’s fourth cousin and flapper
• Liam Smith - Private investigator (from Ireland originally)
• Leaf Johanson - lumberjack

They did pretty well but got frustrated when the Innsmouthers would talk. There are spoilers so watch out.

I ran Call of C’thulhu this past weekend for a group of people who had never played the game before. The original beginning of this scenario appeared in the appendix of the 3rd Edition Call of C’thulhu boxed set as a scenario vignette for a beginning scenario for a campaign. I put together the rest of it, however.

It can be viewed at:

http://www.yog-sotho...what=Max_Writer

Moretown and Dr. Haylett are both real, as is the article by the Honorable D. P. THOMPSON of Montpelier. The Mad River Valley exists.

Characters are:

• Professor Kati Brooks - Professor of Science at Radcliffe
• Charles Puccano - Barber from Boston
• Grace O’Conner - zookeeper at the Franklin Park Zoo, Boston
• Claire McAdams - Talent agent from Boston
• Jason Carthage - Museum Curator, Boston Museum of Art

No spoilers really. This is an original scenario (of sorts).
