How do you do the 360º videos?

Having just looked at the 360º video from the latest CBC meeting, twisting around to look around the room of the recording, I got curious about how it was made and figured this might be the forum to ask.

 

Do you have more than one camera, a specific lens or how do you do a video like that?

It's a simple consumer 360º camera. There's lots of them on the market these days to match all kinds of budgets.

They're quite good at providing a "sense of place" and the results can be interesting to view in the likes of Google Cardboard.
