BTW: a few people have been a little confused about the relationship between Convicts & Cthulhu (the title reviewed here) and the book Cthulhu Hack: Convicts & Cthulhu published by Paul Baldowski.

In short, the Cthulhu Hack version was a title (produced entirely with approval from Cthulhu Reborn) which aims to translate the basic Australian convict setting across to the OSR-ish system used by Cthulhu Hack. It's worth noting that it doesn't aim to completely reproduce the full Convicts & Cthulhu sourcebook material -- in fact it boils that down to just a page or two and points readers back to the much larger account in the Cthulhu Reborn title for the rest. As well as translating the core elements of the setting, it does have some nifty original additions which weren't in the original book -- including a brand new scenario.

Fortunately, both books are Pay-What-You-Want titles, so readers who pick up either can easily pick up a free PDF version of the other, if they'd like to see whether there's material there that would enhance their game.

The Cthulhu Hack version of Convicts & Cthulhu was on sale at Dragonmeet this year. Caught me out for a few seconds too until I realised the two products were officially related.
