I've been listening to another skeptical podcast 'Monster Talk' the source of the second Lovecraft related podcast I linked to last time I posted to this thread. A lot of the material discussed could prove inspiring to Keepers.

The ITunes link to 'Monster Talk' is below:

http://itunes.apple....alk/id325079170

One episode I would recommend is entitled "Crypt O’ Zoology: Dinosaurs in Africa!", which is a very interesting look into just who is currently looking for dinosaurs in some very out of the way places.

Also two related blog posts by the interviewee in the linked episode above:

A podcast on Mongolia's little beastie, the Olgoi-Khorkhoi, even if you don't use the creature itself the background information could inspire an adventure or two.

Another episode of the Skeptoid Podcast that could provide inspiration for Keepers, especially with material like the following under discussion.

A family driving through the Navajo reservation along route 163 in southern Utah was shocked as a dark hairy animal wearing a man's clothes suddenly sprang out of a ditch and lunged at their truck with its arms up over its head. It had glowing eyes and despite its dark fur, looked like no animal they'd ever seen. They sped away, leaving the ugly beast behind.

The Monster Talk Podcast also had a '2012 In Review' episode which included one story, involving a very amateur expedition to Africa that would make for a great adventure. The links below cover the whole thing.

But the most interesting part for a Keeper can be found in the youtube clip below.

A wonderful description, even if they have the wrong edition...

The latest episode of the Skeptoid Podcast is about a 'strange deaths' case in Brazil that suggests there might have been a Mi-Go cult in the Rio area back in the 60's.

...on August 20, 1966, a boy was flying a kite on the hill when he found two dead bodies. Police were summoned and found the two men, Manoel Pereira da Cruz (32) and Miguel José Viana (34), who were electronics repairmen in Campos dos Goytacazes, which is pretty far away, about 200 kilometers to the northeast. They were said to be wearing business suits and raincoats, with a package containing an empty water bottle and two small towels. But the oddest thing of all is that they were wearing lead masks. There was no clue what the lead masks were, or what the cause of death might have been.

Not a podcast this time, but a blog containing I can only describe as blasphemy as the quote below reveals:

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you translated Lovecraft into French and then from French into Italian and then from Italian back to English?

Episode 80 of Monster Talk covers Werewolves and has one surprising thing, it turns out that the idea that Were's are "Slaves to the Moon" originates with Robert E Howard.

As it may, the idea of "Werewolves of Detroit" has a certain cachet to it.

Another blog post, but the material is most inspiring:

According to two blog posts from Fenton, the team uncovered two major discoveries in the Republic of Georgia: the tomb of a giant and a castle made from melted human bone.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned "Ken and Robin Talk About Stuff" yet, although I expect a lot of Yoggies are already familiar with it.

http://www.kenandrob...aboutstuff.com/

I've yet to listen to an episode that wasn't interesting. They talk about game design, occult stuff (from a "this makes a really cool story" and "what's the weirdest version of this we can find" angle), cartography, history, mythology, spycraft, cinema, writing, and, well, a bit of everything that might be interesting to anyone with an interest in gaming.

The July episode of Monster Talk (86) was on the strange origin of the Tibetan Tulpa and also delves into 'corrupted play' (Tee-Tok the Happy Star anyone...?)
