I'm yet to run Masks, or anything of that scale, and was going to wait until this companion came out before doing so as it sounds really excellent.
I hope the confusions in this thread about the Clive Expedition get clarified in it!

Well... I finished my latest bits for WinstonP -- which was a nicely productive way to spend December 25th. Looking forward to reading and editing the next chapters of course.

Whaa? Companion you say? I was organizing something for YSDC you say?

Currently working on: Australia chapter Keeper's notes
    Just got: New art! Hurrah!
Waiting for: Several other Keeper's location notes, my short scenario (the bastard)
Wanted: Help with Pre-gen character sheets (the pre-gens are done, thanks to Pookie, but we'd like them on actual CoC sheets for convenient copying)

December is always a busy month for me (accursed "Holidays") and having two major winter storms and a four-day power outage didn't help matters. And the egg nog... oh the egg nog.

So, it will be done soon (I hope dearly) just not too soon...

    Another quick update:

We've found someone to take on the pre-gen character sheet pdfs (hurrah!)

The rough draft is nearly ready to slouch towards something, ready to be born...

    The latest news:

The big news: The New York Chapter is completely done and has now moved over to layout. Everyone be kind to Adam Crossingham as he wades through the beast.

    As for the other chapters:
Introduction- 90% (can't really finish until rest of the book is in)
Keeper's Tools- 100% written, awaiting final location notes for the Keeper to amend the general Keeper's notes for the campaign.
Jackson Elias- 100% written, needs final proof-read
New York- complete and in layout
London- 85% written, awaiting me to finish my short scenario and final proof-read
Cairo- awaiting submission of Keeper's notes for the chapter
Kenya- 100% written, awaiting a my revision of one article and final proof-read
Australia- 75% written, awaiting me to finish Keeper's notes which are -nearly- done (again thanks for the help with Desert climate effects everyone)
Shanghai- 80% written, awaiting completion of the Keeper's notes (a draft is complete and being revised) and one other article in progress
Transit- 60% complete, awaiting submission of finished short scenario and for me to get off my backside and finish piece about tomes.
Pre-generated characters- 100% written, being transferred to pdf character sheets
    Timeline of 1925- 100% written, awaiting proof-read
Handouts etc.- awaiting submission of above scenarios

Word count, without our two-dozen plus pre-gens is 145,000, give or take.

As you can see, most everything is finished, save a few longer pieces that are in progress. I am the main writer of these bits, so I'm going without dessert until I'm more timely.

I'll be sure to keep updating as the various chapters move over to layout.

I'd like to especially thank Jani Savolanien, Jon Potter, and Anthony Warren who've all pitched in recently giving us a surge of productivity and Pookie who apparently is some sort of machine that lives only to proof-read.

    Thanks for all the support.

Its been a while since I read the London chapter in MoN but if its set in 1925, (which I think it is), the London map shows the Imperial war museum in its current location, which I think was then occupied by the Bethlehem Hospital (Bedlam) and I think it was in South Kensington until the 1930's. Can anyone confirm my suspicions ?

I know that Anthony Warren, who wrote our Keeper's Notes for London, pointed out some other inaccuracies on the London map though I don't think he raised this particular anachronism. I'll check with him to be sure.

    Excellent work, Winston!

Our group played MoN some 15 years ago, but never finished it. Now the players want to play it again and I will of course use the Companion once it is out.

Is the handout with the photo with "DAR.." solved yet?

Zabadak is quite correct; the IWM's moved places at least three times since it opened in 1920. In 1925 it'd be in Kensington, near most of the other museums of London.

    I hate maps.

Excellent. As I came to know about the project rather late, I thought that it could otherwise have been something that I could have helped out with.

Really looking forward to the book.

In terms of aid to the Keeper - are there tips for some sections that are weakly connected to the overall plot ("plot holes")?

As an example, in the New York chapter, there seems to be very few (none?) actual reasons for the Investigators to go down to the basement at a certain shop. This is something that could be taken up and discussed in the Keepers commentary.

We do try to deal with the various inconsistencies and occasional plot-holes in the campaign, as well as points where things tend to go wrong for the Keeper. There is a whole piece about the problem with Carlyle having a copy of People of the Monolith, as an extreme example. The London chapter has a discussion about relocating some of the places characters will visit to reflect the realistic London of 1925 rather than the more cinematic one presented by the campaign. We certainly don't deal with every potential problem, but I hope we've covered the most common ones.

I think the fact that Elias has a card from the place plus is murdered by two men who can be connected to the shop are probably enough; otherwise the coming and lack of going at the place at certain times smacks of something being suspicious. Besides, what investigators don't want to investigate A) a basement B) the attic or C) the family crypt?

Thanks for the information! It really seems like everything is covered. Now I really want this book!
