Thread: Most Desired (rePrint)

I would have to go for the complete Unspeakable Oath line (although, I am now only missing 1-5)...hint, hint.

But, if were to Chaosium to issue the thing...I don't know the independents seem to be doing much more interesting art (a real sticking point for me), even if some of Chaosium's writing is vastly superior.

Somebody said it earlier, but I'd like to see the old Guidebooks expanded like New York and San Francisco, producing:

    Secrets of Egypt
    Secrets of London
    Secrets of New Orleans
    Secrets of Australia (Terror Australis)

And to add to that list, new books on Boston, Paris, Shanghai, Kenya, and the Pacific should cover all the important places (using the Mythos card game as a guide)

Personally I wasn't that impressed with Terror Australis (having bought that via ebay) - once you took out the "missing chapter" from MoN what was left seemed a bit weak IMO

But yes, a new book on Australia might be nice.

My vote also goes to BtMoM, so that uninitiated can experience the wonders contained within.

However, personally I'd rather see new quality campaigns than reprints of old ones. (However, it would be nice with a reprint of The Great Old Ones, if only for ”Tell Me, Have You Seen The Yellow Sign?”.)

"Tell Me, Have You Seen the Yellow Sign?" and "Still Waters" would make great companion scenarios if Chaosium ever did Secrets of New Orleans.

I voted for Dead Reckonings, but only because it contains the favourite Cthulhu scenario I've written to date.

As one of the original authors, I'd also like to see Horror on the Orient Express re-published, but like some other posters on here, I'd like to see an edited and restructured version.

As much as Phil and Marion Anderson were friends of mine at the time we wrote the campaign*, back in those pre-internet days (as Christian pertinantly pointed out), I've never liked their contribution to the campaign. I mean, what the hell has B*** Y*** got to do with the Mythos?

On the other hand, I still love Morriscum's homage to Ligotti, and to this day am still proud of my major contribution, a certain feral count....

*Which is not to say that we're no longer friends, just that I haven't really seen either of them for several years, pretty much since the demise of the Cthulhu Conglomerate. Both fine people; I just didn't like this particular scenario.

Which begs the question: what the hell do v******s have to do with the Mythos?

Just wondering --- I thought it was odd at the time, and my players certainly weren't expecting it, no matter how much I hinted and hinted and hinted...

Us too - we lost three characters here . . .

Out of interest what would you replace it with ???
Richard: Door, don't do it, don't set it free - we don't matter!
Marquis de Carabas: Actually I matter very much, but I have to agree - don't do it.

LOL. Good question. I could try and justify it with references to star vampires, the influence of ancient evil pervading modern times, and other Lovecraftian themes, but the bottom line is I was just obsessed with blood-suckers at the time...

No idea. I guess I'd want to research the local legends of the area, cross-reference some Mythos stories set in the region, and see what I could cobble together. Off the top of my head, possibly somthing nasty involving the Black Goat of the Woods, corn fields, and human sacrifice...

I agree. There were many more plans for Lovecraft County, both in the works, and in sketch. When Chaosium terminated me, they cancelled all those plans, along with the plans I had for expanding the Investigator Companion line.

As a matter of personal interest, Doc. What specifically was in the pipeline for Lovecraft county?

To get back on topic I'd like more supplements for the Gaslight era. It would be great if we had a some "Secrets" books based in the era. For example, a Gaslight Baltimore would be crackin'.

Though I'm not a pagan fan maybe reprinting "The Golden Dawn" would be a nice reprint.

Additional scenario anthologies, like Tales from the Miskatonic Valley and Adventures in Arkham Country. A full-length campaign set in the valley. Another book dealing solely with some of the small forgotten towns in the Miskatonic Valley.

Groundwork was being laid for exploring areas of Vermont, Massachusetts, etc., as someone suggested.

The book I looked most forward to was a linked campaign that would take players through a history of the area, with adventures in Arkham, Kingsport, Dunwich, and Innsmouth in diifferent historical periods. Players would play the campaign down through the years, as descendants of earlier investigators, using the clues and information their ancestors uncovered.

Kevin Ross and I had discussed this really good adventure where you're part of a whaling crew, ala Moby Dick, and...

But it apparently was not meant to be.

At least without having to reprint every older supplements it would be nice Drivethru would offer even more Chaosium OOP stuff like:
    BtMOM and Antartic Kit,
    Creature Companion,
    Keeper Companion I,
    ...
That way, people would not have to spend ridiculous collectors amount to have access to interresting content and maybe would rely less on dubious scans lying around on the net.

Paradoxally I would like to see exact reprint of older stuff in original boxed set format (even though that format is outdated in the industry).
Paperback will never match the fun to have all those little booklets, maps and handouts easily spread out of the box.
