This would be a good idea. As long as it isn't too much of a repeat of MON. If it was based on that I think it'd be fine, but do something completely original with new creatures and new GOO influences occuring.
They might be trying to secure recovery rights for the wreckage of the rocket, or the equipment that made it. Where did it come from, anyway?
