[Delta Green] What do I need to know to appreciate "Through a Glass, Darkly"

I've seen Through a Glass, Darkly for 15$ on Amazon.ca and was tempted to get it but I know nothing about Delta Green except that it includes Mythos and conspiracies. And I've read in a review that you needed to know a lot about the DG universe, including previous novels, to really appreciate this book.

So, as the title says, what do I need to know/read in order to fully appreciate Through a Glass, Darkly?

    Thanks in advance.

Well, the best is obviously to check out http://www.delta-green.com first. As for previous novels and stuff -- Through a Glass, Darkly is obviously a sequel to Rules of Engagement by John Tynes (now available in Delta Green: Strange Authorities, which also contains some other really good fiction, including the final report of Delta Green's former commanding officer, made just before the MJ-12 goons kicked in his door), and your reading experience would be greatly enhanced if you read that first.
But even if you do read RoE first, there will still be gaps in the tale -- I suspect these will be filled in Adam Scott Glancy's Those Who Win, but Azathoth only knows when that will appear. However, these gaps didn't bother me.

Having literally just finished reading them, I would suggest Denied To The Enemy - the founding of DELTA GREEN - then Strange Authorities - the beginnings of its modern form - and finally Through A Glass Darkly, which is fairly climactic.
    [RAG | YMMV]

You, too, will come to understand fear as I have.
