Horror In Clay - Cthulhu ceramic drinking vessel Kickstarter

Occasional lurker, first time poster, lifelong horror fan. I do think this is something folks here will like.

The Horror In Clay is a cthuloid tiki mug from the mythic nautical/tiki bar Pickman's Cove. Sculpted by the incomparable Kristina Lucas Francis, with supporting ephemera (matchbooks, coasters, and an entire back story) designed by Jonathan "Tiki Atari" Chaffin. I conceived the project in part because of the wonderful job done by various HPL roleplayers creating supporting documents for their campaigns. Those of you into tiki culture and tiki bars know that often times a location would take inspiration from a native carving and that would become the "mascot" of the bar, used in the logo, signage, and often as a ceramic drinking vessel for the house signature cocktail.

I created a location called Pickman's Cove and worked backwards, designing an entire backstory and collectible set and entire history for the original native carving.

Pickman's Cove is a fictional bar was located in Boston, Mass in the early 1950's, and run by amateur pin up photographer Ben Upton (nephew of the infamous Richard Upton Pickman...one of my favorite Lovecraft stories).

The nice thing about kickstarter is that if you pledge money but the funding drive isn't successful, you've lost nothing (if it IS successful, then you've ordered a mug). I hope you all love this thing as much as I do, or at least enjoy looking at the images and ephemera we worked hard to design.

    Questions, comments, thoughts, opinions?

    Thanks! Jonathan

I like the idea of including a bunch of ephemera to go along with the mug itself. That lends the whole kit more than a little potential to become a physical prop / handout for someone's twisted Cthulhuoid RPG scenario.

And someone *should* write that scenario!

    Backed.
