Cthulhu By Gaslight - Missing Map ?

Finally got my hands on the new Cthulhu By Gaslight, and on first impression it looks great. If I get a chance I might write a review once I've finished reading it.

However, I notice on the back cover its states that it "Includes a two-colour, fold-out map of the City of London". Great, except mine doesn't !

Have Amazon sent me a duff copy with a missing map or is this a planned inclusion that never saw print ? Please can someone let me know so I know if its just my copy.

My copy had a small map of London folded up and tucked in the inside back cover.

Where did you purchase your copy? Maybe the retailer will do right by you to get you a copy of the map, or you might write an email to Chaosium themselves. They might be able to send you one.

My copy, thankfully, did have the map in the back, but that was the first thing that struck me was how easy it would be for one to fall out while sitting on a shelf in a store. In previous books with removable maps, Chaosium had them be perforated to be removed, but until then they were securely mounted within.

Edit - Doh! I missed that you got it from Amazon. Contact them to see if they will correct the issue. They may send you a new copy with an included map. Who knows, you might get two copies for the cost of one. I would contact Amazon customer service immediately.

My copy also came with the map tucked into the book. It wouldn't be the first time I've gotten battered/damaged books from Amazon but they have always made good with a replacement. Call them and they should take care of you.

I just got Cthulhu by Gaslight yesterday. The map was there, but fell out when I opened the book the first time. Chances are, that's what happened to yours somewhere along the supply line. Hope you got your replacement. Great book from what I can see so far. Looking forward to finding some victim... players to run it for.

Ya, it is pretty small. Almost doesn't even need to be folded to fit in the book. I would have liked a map of all of England too, or even the whole UK, though in that case why stop there. Why not want a colour world map too. I guess they have to draw the line somewhere.

I am still trying to get a copy of the map (which I didn't realize was missing until I stumbled on this thread) from my retailer and their distributor.

I got mine through Amazon last week with map intact (tucked into the back cover.)

That said, it's not "Gummed Down" or shrink-wrapped or anything, so it's entirely conceivable it fell out sometime during the shipping process, as some people have already mentioned.

I considered a globe, but went for a wall map instead.
