Which pure metals would make the best and strongest knife blade that could be used for other knife-like purposes besides summoning a Dimensional Shambler?

Metallurgically no 'pure' metal makes a 'strongest' knife blade. Steel probably makes the best 1920's era blade but isn't very 'pure'.
Copper can be work-hardened to a reasonable strength but the blade won't hold it's edge for too long. Silver is even softer. If you're feeling extravagant then platinum is a pretty hard metal.
But in essence, knives and other tools used for magical purposes aren't intended for anything else, they're in part symbolic in nature, hence using pure metals.

My answer seems to have disappeared. I'd go with meteoric iron, the dead heart of a supernova bathed in cosmic rays. Although it's Enchant Knife, there's no reason it has to look like a knife. A dimensional shambler might only be impressed by a mobius strip or something exacly thee atoms thick.

Platinum or Titanium
In the modern era the titanium may actually be much more feasible, but in olden times you're probably stuck with platinum.
Plutonium might not be the STRONGEST knife blade metal, but it might be the most badass (and, also, a horrible idea).
Legs, yes. Bowtie - cool. I can buy a fez.
If we have two enchanted knives, both of 3/4 of critical mass of U235, wouldn't there be an explosion if the cultists decided to have some swordplay.![]()
