Never seen it but vividly recall reading the novelisation by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro when I was a kid and being pretty freaked out by it, especially by the last chapter with its big revelation. I'd even go so far as to say the book's effect on me has always put me off seeing the film, although 20+ years on I dare say it might seem a bit tame to modern eyes?
