Is the little URL icon Ammut? Heh.
Looks like they've dropped the explicit Alien connection...
They are saying it's developed away from a prequel, however I do think it's set in the same universe as such. The U-shaped ship is an alien design from the original...
The new international trailer sheds light on some things and certainly adds some chills.
I, for one, can't wait to see this.
Wow!!! WOW!!!
Now I have burning desire to tweak Ashen Stars to include Sanity and Stability! And to watch the film of course!!! I rarely get excited about films these days (Whisperer in Darkness was the last film to do so and that film I had waited on since 2007). but this films gets my blood pumping!!!
Guess I am going to have to convince SWMBO it's another films about shoes, this time I shall say it's part two of The Devil Wears Prada.
The static in my mind, leaves me hollow and unkind.
I'm incredibly excited about this film and increasingly convinced that it's a true prequel. There are a few scenes in the trailer that are right from Dan O'Bannon's original script for "Alien". Pre-production art for those sequences has appeared in various books over the years, and I don't think it's a coincidence that the trailer features similar images. The ones I recognize include the circular building at 1:03, the flashlight illuminated wall with a written inscription at 1:05, and the various shots of a chamber filled with ceramic urns. Those were all from a plotline involving an alien temple complex that was dropped from the shooting script for cost and flow issues.
O'Bannon always intended "Alien" to be a Lovecraftian story, if not an outright Mythos tale. If Scott has followed up on some of his ideas it should be a heck of a ride.

I need to stop watching these trailers, lest my excitement causes my skull to vent its contents all over the room in a messy red splat.

It is looking that way. The more I read about it and the more interview that show up, the better this sounds. In the recent AMC video interview, Ridley fielded some pretty crazy questions all of which pointed to a very strong mythology at work here and, perhaps more importantly, said there would likely be another movie or two!
Loving it Loving it Loving it! Must watch trailer six more times...June can't get here fast enough.
