Thread: High-res image of the CoC RPG book cover?

High-res image of the CoC RPG book cover?

I know this is a long shot but I thought I'd ask anyway.

I've been looking for a high resolution image (wallpaper size) of the cover art for the Call of Cthulhu RPG book, the one by John T. Snyder:

I haven't been able to find much. The artist doesn't appear to have a website, and various internet searches have turned up nothing. Does anyone know if there has ever been a high resolution copy of this image available online?

    Thanks.

I have one as my desktop wallpaper, but I don't think it's really hi-res.

Yeah, I've seen that one, but I am looking for something a bit bigger. Thanks for the suggestion though.

It is the only one I have been able to find. If you find a bigger one, let us know.

Let me just say that as the new owner of two Snyder originals (Kingsport and Innsmouth -- the covers of my 1st two books) that John's work is just amazing to see in the flesh. LOTS of additional details leap out at the viewer in the original paintings. Innsmouth, for instance, extends further to the left of the painting than the Chaosium cover reveals, and you can clearly see the sweat dripping down the face and neck of the fellow in the foreground (as a recent visitor pointed out). John tells me the recently-sold Mountains of Madness painting has similar details lost in the Chaosium book cover reproductions, and that the colors on the Call of Cthulhu 5th ed painting are much more vivid than one sees on the book covers.

John's the real goddamn thing, and my favorite artist to work with.

I am happy that you are disappointed in that regards! I'll ditto Kevin and say how much I love those covers and your work more generally. Sign me up for a couple prints!
