[Reborn] ArtDeco Character Sheet for 1920s Cthulhu

About a month ago, I designed a custom Gaslight-era CoC character sheet for use in a (still upcoming) freebie scenario release I am typesetting. That sheet was themed around the Art Nouveau style popular with aesthetes and decadent sorts at the turn of the 20th Century. You can see that sheet in the thread: http://www.yog-sothoth.com/threads/2...hulhu-Gaslight.

One of the comments made in this thread was basically ... hey, that's all well and good ... but wouldn't it be great to do something similar for 1920s Cthulhu, using the Art Deco style (which sort of evolved out of Art Nouveau, but eventually became quite different). Well, never being one to shirk an an opportunity to spend hours of time on something with no obvious point ... I thought I would take up this nebulous challenge. And after a bit of work I have a completed design for a sheet.

You can read a longer and more rambling account of the process of designing the Art Deco sheet over at: http://cthulhureborn.wordpress.com/2...aracter-sheet/, where you can also download a PDF version of the sheet formatted for either A4 of US Letter sized paper.

But for those too lazy to click, here are a few snapshots of my work.

Front side of the sheet (scaled down):

Detail of my spiffingly brand new Art Deco-ish CoC Logo:

As always ... if you have any (non-commercial) use for this sheet, you are more than welcome to make it yours in whatever way you like. May it enrich your game with whole new realms of Art Deco-y goodness.

Agreed. This is as sexy as a character sheet can get.

Was the 20th anniversary version any different from the one in the 6th edition (and available from Chaosium's website)?

First, "Wow"! I love it. Like Paul, this is my new favorite character sheet.

Second, are you possibly working on a modern designed sheet for modern CoC games? I'm thinking modern non-Delta Green.

And third, please give Mr. Rios a call. It is very cool to think that MRP would utilize your skills.

    Thanks man!

Actually, don't tell anybody, but all of my Call of Cthulhu design work is done *while* I sleep ... you know, when the Things From Beyond take possession of my body. It's a pretty good way to work, but I do get tired of having to clean up the goat entrails each morning

Hi Osk ... always happy to talk about helping the "cool kids" out.

It's quite ironic that you, of all people should comment on this sheet -- while I was typesetting the SAN point table yesterday, I was only just thinking how glad I was to NOT be doing a sheet for Cthulhu Invictus (with which I mentally associate you right now, although I know you're multi-talented). I figure that to do a really good job at such a table you'd have to use roman numerals for everything which would (a) be a nightmare to line up into columns, and (b) be really hard for most people to read. Still, it'd be worth it just to be able to hear one of your players say "ok, so I had LXXXVIII sanity points and I lost IX when I saw the Byakhee ... which number do I circle now?"

This made me smile. Great skills once again in the sheet.

It's just the one I've been using; minor cosmetic differences if any.

BTW: I'm not saying it would be *impossible* to do an Invictus Sanity meter ... (proof of concept below)
