Tonyfr, don''t worry, we've got hot rods covered. And while we didn't devote a chapter to 50s weapons or anything, you will find more than a fare share in here. Especially in my scenario, which has a bunch of new toys to play with.

Badger, well what did you think? I only work with the best.

    ***an AAC update***

Well I sent the last thing I had to do for Atomic Age Cthulhu, an intro, to Chaosium. The book is now completely out of my hands and into the tentacles of the publisher. No firm word on when it will come out, but I've been told that probably before the end of the year. Well I cross my fingers and hope that turns out to be the case. In the mean time, I thought I'd share the little teaser taglines I did for each scenario to give you all some idea on what you can expect, scenario-wise, when the book comes out. Oh and just FYI, this may not be the order in which the scenarios appear in the final book.

This Village was Made for Us – in a closed community devoted to exploring the new found wonders of the atomic age, alien horrors conduct their own experiments and our wellbeing does not factor into their calculations.

T.V. Casualty – Television: newfangled technological wonder, or dreaded idiot box looking to enslave us all? Could the answer to both questions be yes?

The Return of Old Reliable – The space race, still in its infancy, gives birth to a world-threatening horror no one could have seen coming.

Forgotten Wars – The Korean “conflict”, never formally classified as a war, and yet technically still underway today, pales in comparison to the aeons long battle between two ancient enemies, and a US Army tank crew gets caught in the middle.

High Octane – slick hotrods, dirty and dangerous bikers, a commie plot, and a once slumbering menace starting to stir, will the investigators be able to keep the lid on this pressure cooker or are things going to blow as the fear continues to mount?

L.A. Diabolical – It’s Tinsel Town and the rich and famous want to dabble with the chic side of darkness for kicks, but when something from the darkness starts playing with them, the fun quickly ends.

Destroying Paradise, Hawaiian Style – blue skies, loud shirts, surfing and a king of rock n’ roll making a movie, what could possible go wrong? Well when the horrors of the Cthulhu Mythos combine with the horror of nuclear weapons, what do you think?

Forgotten Wars and L.A. Diabolical sound interesting.

Well I like them all, naturally. Forgotten Wars is sort of a tribute to my father who commanded a Sherman tank in the "forgotten war" known as Korea. His vaguely remembered stories about the horrors of the Korean conflict seemed like a good place to drop in a little Cthulhu Mythos. Besides, when do you ever get the chance to cruse around in a honest to goodness tank in CoC?

I didn't know the Sherman's were used in Korea...I thought they were mothballed for the newer Peshings and Pattons.

I shall be picking this book up for sure....I've always wanted to mow down a human wave with a M4 equipped with a flamethrower.

Nope, the little steel workhorses kept going and going and going and... In fact here is a pic of one in action in Korea; http://www.americanmilitaryhistoryms...ce-of-war-iii/ Also note that caption that says: "It’s difficult to understand how a war that resulted in so many casualties was so easily forgotten, but that seems to be the case for the Korean War (June 1950-July 1953). Although the Koreans and Chinese suffered the most casualties, it is still important to remember that more than 36,000 Americans died and nearly 100,000 were wounded."

Somehow, I _just_ noticed this: The Atomic Beast - a free PDF from Chaosium. Is this a preview of things to come?

Since as far as I know no one who worked on this project has yet to to read it, I would have to say no. But it could be really cool, and as I've said many times over, I think the 50s is a great time for CoC investigation. So if this adds to the setting, so much the better.

Going to be some huge interest in this!

And if 'This Village was Made for Us' is the sort of scenario I think it could be... it's going to be a corker!

As for the 1950ies music, I had a thread in the german forum some years ago. It was part of some brainstorming about a 1950ies setting:

We might try something similar here. It was a kind of game (I would have to translate the rules) resulting in filling up a jukebox with authentic 1950ies singles.

Has anyone ran the Atomic Best adventure yet? I skimmed through it and I must say that I'm very excited about this era. It may sound pulpy, but I love the idea of Greasers taking on some Mi-Go (how much damage would a switch blade comb do?)
