Thread: Stone Age Scenario Music

    Stone Age Scenario Music

So I'm running the Cursed Be the City scenario from Strange Aeons II, and it's set in the Stone Age, with Neanderthals, Cro-Magnons and mammuts, among other things. Now I'm looking for music that fits the mood.

Got any suggestions on Stone Age/tribal/jungle/forest-themed music? It doesn't necessarily need to be dark and ominous, ambient or chill music would also work. Suggestions for battle music would also be appreciated.

I've already found a few songs (mostly from video games):

Wow man, looks like you put a lot of thought into it. Awesome. Hope you dig "Caveman vs. Cthulhu" (I just love saying that). It was one of my favs in SA 2.

When I saw your thread title I instantly thought of the 2001 Planet of the Apes soundtrack by Danny Elfman. I don't know much of it other than the main title but that strikes me as being quite Stone Age-y.

Yeah, well, my players are pretty slow, and we've been running the same campaign for over six months now. Now I finally get to run something new, so I guess I'm just really excited about this. Plus, when there's a clear theme, I just love bringing every part of that theme into my scenarios, especially the music! Btw, was thinking of including an encounter with a Mythos Troll as well, any thoughts about that? I thought it would fit with the scenario since they're supposed to live in glacial caves and worship Tsathoggua.

Thanks, gonna look that soundtrack up right now!

Some of the Philip Glass music such as Naqoyqatsi can be quite atmospheric.

Sorry I didn't see this thread back when it was posted. I was stuck with the same question... what kind of background music would fit Cursed Be the City? I ended up using taiko drum music, and that worked just great. Lots of drumming, plus some chanting and a little bit of flute music.
