Not at all. I'd also follow up on Ben_Stamper's suggestion above about the freely downloadable Monophobia.

I always thought that Chaosium should get solo adventures like Alone Against the Dark and Alone Against the Wendigo back in print (or something like them). Those are true "solo" adventures (akin to Fighting Fantasy in how they work).

All I need to do now then is wait for my Dice to arrive ^^

I was reading the Quick Start, I really like the idea of being able to come up with any occupation. But curses, my mind went blank as soon as I read that.
If they told me I could only be one of a few, I would naturally think of one I can't be, now I can't think of one haha!

Have you looked in the Players directory? Kent apparently has 8 Yoggies all looking for games, so perhaps you could try PMing them to see wether they are able/want to play. Alternatively they may know of any clubs where it might be possible to get a game.

BTW, I have never had any problems finding a players at a games club if I tell them I'll be the Keeper/GM.

My advice is: go for it with only one player for now ( your wife) and Monophobia. Just read and re-read the adventure so that you really get the hang of it, so as to present it to her as seamlessly as possible. this way you'll just have to concentrate on the rules, and these are really easy ( I know, I've been a Keeper for nearly thirty years, and I'm awful with heavy rules systems)

I was looking at dice, I was thinking of getting this set; http://www.thediceshoponline.com/dic...7-Dice-Polyset does that have each of the dice I will need? The quick-start says something about D100? I can't seem to see that anywhere?

Is it a good idea to have multiple sets?

That set is fine, although from the more expensive end of the dice market.

A "D100" is actually two D10s , one read as as the "tens" column the other as 1.

If you look at the picture of the black marble set you'll see that one of the dice (at about 2 oclcok on the picture) is labelled wih a "90".

    So a 90 on one dice and an 8 on another =90 +8 =98.
    Usually "00" +0 = 100

One set is fine, but one set per player tends to be more convenient. You should be able to find lots of companies do sets of various designs and fanciness, but a simple set is just as good (and often less than half the price !)

Ok that makes sense then. I was worried because the only "D100" I have found is rather expensive for just one dice.

I would also recommend Monophobia. I haven't actually tried playing the scenarios yet, but I've read through them and they're great.

I wish Chaosium would reprint the solo adventures too. I never had the chance to play them and would very much love to. I've been reading and writing solo adventures for decades. None for Call of Cthulhu yet (unless you count the short Choose Your Own Adventure-like The End of It All), but I plan to remedy that as soon as I have time. I'm thinking of adapting one or more of the scenarios in Monophobia as a true solo adventure with one player and no Keeper. Once I've got that under my belt, maybe Chaosium or MRP or someone else would be interested in publishing one of my other solo adventure ideas.

Sounds like a potentially good idea for a MULA monograph.

I've ordered the book, is that one book all you need at first, it isn't like DnD with the three core books?

Would each person playing need the book or can you get by with just one copy to begin with?

I was looking at the photos of people playing, and noticed that the players had small pieces of folded card in front of their Character Sheets? Don't know what they are? Also I was wondering if the book comes with a Keeper screen or if I'd need to make/buy one separate?

Sorry but no DM screen with the core rule book, but as I'm sure you've see a new one is out soon. I wouldn't bother with a screen to start with, I very rarely use one.
As to the cards, not sure, could be an image of the players investigators.
When I first started I rolled up several investigators, just to see how it works, and I read the rule book cover to cover, but to be honest you don't need to the rules are so simple, not like D&D. I then played through one of the free stories (in the rule book) on my own, and then did it for my group.
Good luck and keep us posted.
The static in my mind, leaves me hollow and unkind.
