    Machinations of the Comte D'Erlette

Why can I not find his entry in the Encyclopedia Cthulhiana? I've looked under his real name, but other than some biographical material in the "Cultes de Goules" entry there is nothing!

In the 3rd ed. (retitled The Cthulhu Mythos Encyclopedia) he's got a long entry on p76. No idea if that's new in that edition.

(You probably already know this, but in case not - "comte" is a title, and he's accordingly listed under 'D'.)

In the earlier edition there is nothing under Comte, Erlette, D'Erlette, or Balfour - nor is there a "See X" in the "Cultes de Goules" entry.

I no longer have my first edition copy (or if I do, I don't know where it is). In the second edition (199, there's an entry on pp. 84-85.

Mine is the 1st edition (1994). I doubted he could escape the gaze of Harms for long.

The policy in the first edition was not to include people, as they weren't a part of the "mythology" as tomes, books, locations, etc. were. I changed my mind in subsequent editions.

[PLUG] Don't forget, the third edition is still available for cheap, or you can shell out for a hardcover:
