    [Spoiler], Auto-Save & Multi-Quote

    Spoiler Text

With the new site, there's a new tag specifically for marking spoiler text.

No longer do you need to quote "white on white" text, or leave big gaps, simply put the text you want marking as spoilers inside the following tags...

    Like so:

    HTML Code:
    [spoiler]This is spoiler text.[/spoiler]
    and that's it!

    Spoiler:
    This is spoiler text.

    Multi-Quote Posts

Also, you can now easily "multi-quote" a number of posts by clicking on the "+ icon in the bottom right corner of the relevant posts (turns into a + with a tick); then when you click on the +Reply to Thread button, all the checked posts will be quoted in your reply.

    MP3 Audio

A button on the "Go Advanced" message editor allows you to link to MP3 files with a small audio player.

Simply type in the web address of the MP3, highlight it with your cursor and hit the MP3 button. Then when posted you'll see a "Player" icon and clicking on that will launch a pop-up window to play the audio.

    e.g. http://www.yog-sothoth.com/docs3/av-patron-promo-hq.mp3

    Becomes:

    Auto-Save

Every 60 seconds the site will automatically save the content of your message (/reply) box. If for some reason you're not able to complete your message then the next time you come back to the thread and begin making a new post you should see a "Restore Auto-Saved Content" button in the bottom left corner of the message window.

    Auto-Save Message Post function.

Losing text happens rarely but this should be a handy feature just in case.

    Hope these are of use!

    Sticky this puppy!

    ...

    ...Ew, sticky spoilers. Ugh.

PS: I just noticed, it doesn't hide text on the home page widgets, tho!

    I noticed that, too.

Allicorn's working on a new widget that should (hopefully) in essence replicate the old "Scrolling Forum Posts" block, which will likely not have a text preview.

    Hopefully that should sort that.

I'll "sticky" this for a while, anyway.

If you're using the "Advanced Editor" when replying to posts you should now see a button near the lower right of the buttons bar that will insert the "spoiler" tags for you. N.B. for this to appear you must have your Message Editor Interface settings set to anything other than "Basic".

Just highlight the text (or image) that you want to put behind a spoiler window, then hit the SPOI-LER button and the tags should be put around the content...

    Seems to work!

If you can't see a "Go Advanced" button near the bottom left of the post reply box then it may be worth checking your General Settings and ensuring that either "Standard Editor" or "Enhanced Interface" is selected and saved under "Miscellanous Options".
