New GM/player seeks answers for various questions

    Hello everyone!

I'm virtually inexperienced when it comes to GMing, so I have several questions that I hope that you guys can help. Since now, my thanks.

    - As a player, I'm trying to play a 2nd lieutenant in the army, who has just graduated, is he a 1st-level character?

-Do combat simulations give XP to a soldier?

As a Resident Evil fan, I need some help in creating the main characters of the game, and as such, I ask if there is someone who shares my interest in RE and is willing to help.

I'm not familiar enough with d20 to answer all your questions, but I would think that someone who is a 1st liet would be higher than 1st level.

Since you're a RE fan, check out the d20 Resident Evil supplement for CoC on this site.

    1) Personally, I'd imagine your lieutenant would be either second or third level. I always think these levels reflect a good knowledge of combat and life in general without making your character a superhero.

    2) Yes, and you'll get more XP for harder fights. Fights which end with your character on the verge of death will probably give you more XP than you'd receive after killing an old man in his sleep.

    3) I really liked the first Resident Evil, but the others less so. The second outraged me by giving you 100 bullets at the start - I'm sure you only got 50 or so in the whole of the first game!

-And where would he get those levels? Combat simulations perhaps? And speaking of which, I think in a combat sim the risk of dying is minimal or even non-existant.

-About the Martial Artist feat, if I want to deal subdual damage, would it be 1d3 or 1d4? BTW, thanks!

Yeah, I suppose so. Actually, you've made me think more about it now... maybe he'd still be level one, but he'd have several weapon proficiences for free, such as Rifle, Pistol, possibly a few others. Probably Endurance too. And if you've seen Starship Troopers, you know that death can occur in training! (I just love killing PCs, I can't help it)

1d4, although why anyone would use subdual damage is beyond me...

Well, the rulebook states that if we use the feat we would only deal 1d4 points of normal damage (I think) .

About my Resident Evil project, do you know someone who can help?
