I just don't have the words to articulate what a loss this is. Doc was a tremendously creative and helpful person, as well as friendly. Often the first person to respond if you had a problem or wanted to discuss something related to the hobby, his skill and insight as well as his friendship will be badly missed.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
Camilla: You, sir, should unmask.
Stranger: Indeed?
Camilla: Indeed it's time. We have all laid aside disguise but you.
Stranger: I wear no mask.
Camilla (Terrified aside to Cassilda): No mask? No mask!

More love and brilliance from you, PoC. Thank you.
As you know, Doc and I owed you most of everything for getting MRP off the ground. Without you and this site, Miskatonic River Press wouldn't have happened.
Here's to you, PoC...from Doc.
You didn't have to say that, but thank you.
I'm very glad the site proves useful to people, and that's purely due to all the people who contribute to it. It's a wonderful feedback loop.

Call of Cthulhu was my very first roleplaying game experience in 1992. For a while all we used was the core rule book, but then we started getting supplements.
When I decided to try being a Keeper, the first CoC book I bought for myself was Tales of the Miskatonic Valley. I've run all the scenarios in there for different groups, and sometimes still pick up the book just to read for enjoyment.
Until recently, Keith Herber was just a name on some of my favorite books. I'm glad to know more about the man behind the name. I just wish it hadn't come so damn late.
Thank you Keith. Thank you for helping me fall in love with this hobby all those years ago.
Keeper Dan on The Miskatonic University Podcast
Even though the Keeper's Cupboard is not directly a tribute to Keith "Doc" Herber, it wouldn't have happened without him. His contributions to the hobby made it possible. And what he said in the interview here on YSDC motivated me. To think that a big name in RPGs didn't get started until 30 makes me feel like I'm not too late to keep writing and aim high.
Thanks for making much of this possible, Doc.
Am I my brother's keeper?
No. He doesn't play Call of Cthulhu.

Keith Herber's writings is one of the reasons that I'm a gamer today. Thanks, Mr. Herber

That was a great session, well done! I should have known that post would come back to haunt me. I forgot I posted it, so it was a bit of a surprise when I heard my name come up in forum posts. When I heard it I thought "Huh? I don't remember posting any interesting or well thought out posts." And then it turned out I was right, lol.
That was one of the best editions ever. It didn't feel too long, and it was great to hear so many people weigh in on the whole recruiting new gamers/where is the hobby going issue. It was well-thought out and unhurried. Cool to hear from a guy who didn't 'convert' as well. I hope that Val and Brian can come on the show again some other time. Or, if Brian was bored witless, just Val.
The reviews and the Keeper's Cupboard were excellent too. Even though I do read German, I still envy them.
I enjoy listening to all the feedback (it makes me feel like I'm part of a community), but cutting it down a bit is probably a good idea.![]()
Thanks for a wonderful show, and for consistently going above and beyond.

Another great show guys.
Fin:
Congrats again on the pending little one.
Nick & Pookie:
Your tandem review was great. I like the conversational tone it had. I have to admit: I imagined the two of you as hosts of a public-access television talk-show produced in the basement
Paul:
Great job interviewing, as usual!
