Necronomicons - Treadwell's Lecture by Dan Harms
Posted on Friday, June 19, 2009 @ 21:28:03 GMT
Topic: Yog Radio
Yog RadioFollowing in the footsteps of Justin Woodman, Dan Harms gave a talk at Treadwell's bookshop in London at the end of May entitled: "Necronomicons: The Scariest Book in the World". Courtesy of GBSteve we have a recording of the talk to share on YSDC.

Besides being a Yoggie regular, Dan is perhaps best known for publications such as The Necronomicon Files and of course The Cthulhu Mythos Encyclopedia. If you want to know more about the various histories of books purporting to be the dread Necronomicon, then listen on!

Thanks again to Dan, Treadwell's and GBSteve for making this recording available.

Necronomicons: The Scariest Book in the World

The Necronomicon was the most famous book that never existed - until the first copies appeared on the market.

The Necronomicon was once the most famous book that never existed - until a few decades ago, when the first copies appeared on the market. From Lovecraft to Grant to... well, you name it! This is the story of their non-existence, their existence, and their secret stories. Dan Harms reveals the history of these books, their relevance in the broader current of the grimoire tradition, and their impact upon magical practice.

Recorded 28th May, 2009. The speaker was in London on a short visit from North America.
