Today (13th November) marks the 30th anniversary of Chaosium's seminal roleplaying game of Lovecraftian investigation.

During that time this multi-award winning game has enchanted and entertained countless thousands, which it continues to do to this day. For an RPG that is nominatively in its 6th edition the game has stayed remarkably consistent over three decades (which is something few others can attest to).

Without the publication of Call of Cthulhu this web site would not exist and it is a testament to the nature of this, the first investigative RPG that 30 years on there is such love, community and public support for Sandy Petersen's game.

Cold Letters is the name our competition/contest/event to come up with interesting/entertaining/fun compositions of phrases using the Lovecraftian Letters magnetic words kit from Innsmouth House.

The event is very kindly sponsored by Hippocampus Press (with some additional prize support from YSDC), providing a multitude of prizes (well, at least eight).

"Secret Shoggoth" (YSDC's festive season mystery gift exchange) returns for its sixth year; ably organised once again by CAThompson.

The Silver Lodge is both a new show from YSDC and a new level of site subscription.

Silver Lodge membership provides a selection of the benefits of full Community Patronage as well as access to the full Yog Radio archives and the new Silver Lodge show (for the equivalent of $3 [US] a month).

Following on from the end of Yog Radio, The Silver Lodge show features some familiar hosts talking further about Lovecraft, Cthulhu gaming and other topics with a wider remit than the original Yog Radio.

The first episode of The Silver Lodge is now available to Lodge Members and YSDC Community Patrons.

A little while ago we ran a fundraiser/pre-order for our Lovecraftian Letters project. It proved rather successful and YSDC's Lovecraftian magnetic word sets are now in production.

Pre-orders have begun shipping out and the standard retail sets are now available from Innsmouth House.

Thanks to everyone who supported the pre-order and helped make these a reality, now available to all! Have fun and look out for a "Cold Letters" competition based on the magnets in the near future...

That is not dead which can... be hosted elsewhere. Back from a digital holiday is Allicorn's provision of The Keep - online Call of Cthulhu character sheet generator and storage facility.

The Keep OCS creates tidy, printable character sheets for Call of Cthulhu right on the web (so should be usable on many computing platforms). Besides making printable sheets you can also download Byakhee CoC character compatible files of the characters you create.
