Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land, a mobile game for the iOS platform from Red Wasp Design is now out. We first reported on the mobile game last May and 30th January marks its release in the iTunes store.

Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land is a turn-based strategy RPG set in the trenches of World War I (returning to the horror of Lovecraft's Herbert West: Reanimator) and features nine 3D levels where you control "a team of up to six Investigators charged with uncovering a deadly inhuman conspiracy underlying the clash of empires of the Great War."...

The game's designer is Tomas Rawlings, who many will remember as the author of the Dark Mirror monograph for Call of Cthulhu.

Now out in PDF (with a print edition to follow in early 2012) is the Laundry Files: Agent's Handbook for the Laundry Files RPG from Cubicle 7.

The Agent's Handbook is a 128 page player's guide for The Laundry universe offering advice on tradecraft, details of new equipment, rules for civilians (and for running historical games) as well as promising "maddening forms and eldritch bureaucracy".

If you've been waiting to find out more about this distinctive take on "Cthulhu Britannica" and the Laundryverse this looks like it should satisfy your ISO9001 requirements.

H.P. Lovecraft's Dreamlands

Chaosium have put H.P. Lovecraft's Dreamlands for Call of Cthulhu back into print after seven years.

The reprint of the 5th edition sees its release in both softcover and PDF formats, so if you missed it first time round or want an electronic version, it's now available from Chaosium.

On a note of trivia, when Sandy Petersen first pitched the idea of a Lovecraft-based RPG to Chaosium it was for the Dreamlands, which remains one of the most under-utilised Lovecraftian settings unless Pelgrane Press decide to pursue Paris...

Now appearing on sites like RPGNow and DriveThruRPG, Bubbles and Troubles is a PDF publication for Graham Walmsley's Cthulhu Dark rules.

Written by Jameson Mcdaniel the scenario deals with the missing crew of the Nautilus Bio Sphere, a near-future underwater facility.

This is the first commercial release in support of the (very light and free) Cthulhu Dark rules set. It will be interesting to see how support develops further.

We first covered this new roleplaying game back in News from Pnakotus 008 and now it's been released in PDF format (with a print edition to follow).

Macabre Tales, an RPG from Spectrum Games, is based on the works (and only the works) of H.P. Lovecraft. The game has an unusual system mechanic - the use of dominoes. Dominoes are used in part as randomisers but also for resource calls (such as stat checks).

The 93 page PDF written by Cynthia Celeste Miller is available to download from sites like RPGNow. There's also discussion of the game in the forums.

Pelgrane Press have put out two new scenarios for Trail of Cthulhu. The first, Hell Fire by Adam Gauntlett deals with the infamous 18th century Hell Fire Club wherein the players are members whose investigations take them to "the heart of the disease-ridden underbelly of London society" of the late 1700s.

Invasive Procedures is ostensibly a scenario for Pelgrane's Fear Itself but also includes Trail of Cthulhu conversion notes for those who wish to adapt this modern-day hospital-based adventure.

While Hell Fire is (currently) PDF-only, Invasive Procedures is a print pre-order (with PDF).

Monographs: Colonial Terrors and The Sevenfold Path

Two more monograph releases from Chaosium (bringing October's total to four)! This time Colonial Terrors by Jeff Woodall - a Call of Cthulhu campaign set in New England just prior to the American Revolution where the investigators are "patriot smugglers" (which is not what we called them in the UK ).

The second new monograph is based much further North with The Sevenfold Path - a sourcebook (and campaign) for 1920s Iceland by Jeff Moeller.

Both MULA monographs are available in print and PDF formats directly from Chaosium's online shop.
