The House of R'lyeh cover. Five Call of Cthulhu scenarios from Chaosium.

Out now from Chaosium is The House of R'lyeh, a collection of five Call of Cthulhu scenarios based around events originally described in five different H.P. Lovecraft stories (Pickman's Model, The Haunter of the Dark, The Hound, Arthur Jermyn, and The Nameless City).

The scenarios span the US, UK, Europe and the Middle East and are flexible enough to be used either independently, strung together as a loose campaign or act as an adjunct to other campaigns such as Shadows of Yog-Sothoth.

Pick it up in PDF or wait a little while for the print edition.

    Achtung! Cthulhu logo.

Achtung! Cthulhu, "the two-fisted wartime Call of Cthulhu RPG" recently held a Kickstarter ostensibly to produce a set of Keeper's and Investigator's Guides. Over the past six weeks the fundraiser by Modiphius has proven a runaway success, adding huge amounts of material and reaching a total of more than £177,000.

With almost 2,000 backers the Achtung! Cthulhu Kickstarter has raised the equivalent of $268,000 (US) [over 2,200% of their original goal], beating Chaosium's Horror on the Orient Express fundraiser by more than $60K.

    Lost in the Lights cover.

Sixtystone Press have released Lost in the Lights, the first volume in a series dealing with modern day cults for Call of Cthulhu. Written by Jeffrey Moeller (The Primal State) and featuring art by David Lee Ingersoll, the supplement provides an in-depth examination of the cult of Shabbith-Ka along with a scenario set in Las Vegas, promising "...Elvises. Lots and lots of Elvises."

A set of deluxe interactive handouts are also available allowing you to customise them for your own game. Lost in the Lights is available now in PDF format with a print edition from Chronicle City to follow later in the year.

    Arkham Investigator cover.

Sometimes getting a group together to play a game is not always easy and besides a few solo adventures solitaire play is not a well served market, which is why Hal Eccles's new game, Arkham Investigator is doubly interesting. Besides being a game of "Macabre Detection in the Worlds of H.P. Lovecraft" it also supports individual as well as group play.

Those with long game memories may recall Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective; Arkham Investigator plays in a similar manner, using maps, newspapers and directories to solve a mystery and in this case, see if you can best Prof. Henry Armitage's own investigations.

Arkham Investigator is available as a free download, with planned expansion packs to follow.

    Tales of the Sleepless City.

Hot from the printers is Tales of the Sleepless City by Miskatonic River Press, a collection of Call of Cthulhu scenarios set in 1920s New York.

MRP promises "The Big Apple is practically a character in each of these pieces... If you can investigate here, you can investigate anywhere!".

I suspect many Cthulhu investigators have passed through the great metropolis at some point and Tales of the Sleepless City may be just the thing to add a few extra twists and turns to their careers (for however long those may be)...

    The Unspeakable Oath #22.

Welcome news in my in box as I discover issue 22 of The Unspeakable Oath has been released.

The "more-or-less quarterly digest" promises a range of tools, scenarios, and reviews to make your Cthulhu Mythos games more terrifying than ever.

Once again Arc Dream's publication reads like a veritable "who's who" of Lovecraftian gaming.

The Unspeakable Oath 22 is out now in PDF; print will follow (though I'm just going to stop appending that to news items as it's become pretty much the norm for the bigger publishers).

Dark Adventure Radio Theatre: The Case of Charles Dexter Ward.

That powerhouse of Lovecraftian production, the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society have released another dramatic tale in their Dark Adventure Radio Theatre series (and one of my favourites), The Case of Charles Dexter Ward.

Being Lovecraft's longest story, the adaptation spans two CDs (running over two and a half hours) and comes with the superb supporting props you expect from the HPLHS.

DART: The Case of Charles Dexter Ward is out now, both in CD format and digital download (without props).
