    Dragonroar. A British roleplaying game.

This edition of The Silver Lodge was broadcast live, available for all to hear via YR2 our 24/7 streaming channel.

In this meeting of The Lodge we talk about various unusual/obscure games-related objects that we've always longed for (and sometimes got). We also interrogate Chris in "The Probe Room" about his singularity graphic novel, Transreality.

The House of R'lyeh cover. Five Call of Cthulhu scenarios from Chaosium.

Out now from Chaosium is The House of R'lyeh, a collection of five Call of Cthulhu scenarios based around events originally described in five different H.P. Lovecraft stories (Pickman's Model, The Haunter of the Dark, The Hound, Arthur Jermyn, and The Nameless City).

The scenarios span the US, UK, Europe and the Middle East and are flexible enough to be used either independently, strung together as a loose campaign or act as an adjunct to other campaigns such as Shadows of Yog-Sothoth.

Pick it up in PDF or wait a little while for the print edition.

Soundman Dummy Head for binaural recording.

In my previous article on YSDC's 2013 podcasting equipment I dealt primarily with the equipment used for producing The Silver Lodge. This time (as promised) I'll be talking about what we use for mobile and games recordings, along with the use of webcams.

    Mobile Recording

When out and about there are two primary recording set ups put to use (depending on the situation). These are:

    Yog Radio Tin Can.

This article describes the audio equipment used by YSDC to produce our magazine-style podcasts. The different equipment used for both mobile and game recordings are the subject of another article.

    In the Beginning

Before detailing our 2013 set-up it may be useful to provide a little context as to how we started back in 2004/5. During this earliest time in podcasting it was easiest to make use of what was immediately to hand, in this case an iRiver iFP-790. Holding a then hefty 256 MB of solid state storage this little device had the ability to record and hardware encode directly to MP3 as well as play back files like any ...

Actually by the 1920s most revolvers being produced included a transfer bar which prevented accidental discharge when the hammer received a sharp blow.

Also, in the 20's and Gaslight eras, revolvers were a lot more likely to go off by accident than they are today, which was a strong incentive not to carry
