Keepering MoN:Cairo III

Another fun session. I'm really enjoying having Mahmoud as a PC, there's plenty of amusement from the other players patronising him and Mahmoud's player outflanking them for monetary gain. His player has gone from one extreme to another (from a female British aristocrat to an Egyptian beggar boy).

Not much in terms of overall plot happened: they questioned Kafour again, working out that the Brotherhood intends on resurrecting Nitocris and that they need the Crown, Necklace and Girdle; and they found Faraz Najir and arranged a meeting with him at El Hussein Mosque. However, there was plenty of roleplaying, and in addition as they were leaving the Street of Jackals (former site of Najir's shop) they were set upon by an angry crowd of anti-imperialist demonstrators. One brief butn entertaining combat later (they ended up barricading with barrels a narrow alleyway that they'd been lead down by Mahmood), they finally meet Najir. All goes boringly until they mention the Carlyle Expedition whereupon Najir starts cursing them in Arabic (amazing what you can find on the internet!) and tries hustling them out of the shop. The investigators beat a hasty retreat when they see a crowd of locals start to gather, mindful of their earlier skirmish in the Old City.

Next week I'm expecting them to do some or all of the following: reluctantly visit the Clive Expedition at Memphis (Kafour has given them the name of a local foreman, but he'll inform them that all the site diggers have been provided by Shakti), maybe investigate the Giza Pyramids with a bit more purpose, try and find Besart, and end up with an invitation from Shakti to stay at his villa. I must read up on what kinds of things Shakti could use against them, magically and physically speaking.

Ach, I am in total withdrawal without my regular simstim MoN fix... I hope the delay is just a delay and that your campaign haven't withered...

My own group have just recently burglarised the Penhew foundation, dumped priceless artifacts in the themes and given loads of marked pound notes to the poor dancer at the blue pyramid club... the hope to flee London for a short weekend of hunting (all to near the Miser House for their taste...)

Hope to read some more from you and your gaming troupe soon.
