I've been a fan of the Orient Express for many years. I've never travelled on it, but having watched films like Murder on the Orient Express as a child, the romance, luxury and style always appealed. It's one of the reasons I decided to run Horror on the Orient Express a few years ago.
While travelling on the train is out of our budget I instead do a little "armchair travelling" by requesting the free VSOE brochures every so often - and very nice they are too. The brochures deal with both European/UK and world-wide trips and besides the expected range of promotional pictures they also feature period photographs from the early 1900s. The brochures are certainly worth a look if you're planning a train-based scenario but you may want to avoid looking at the ticket prices...
Another UK-based train service that also has some nice brochures is The Railway Touring Company. Doesn't harm to look and some of the photos may put your players in the mood for the age of steam.
