Relief as Hotel Horror Ends
Famed Alienist Says The
_____Danger is Past________
In an exclusive interview with Examiner reporters, Dr John Spellman, the alienist consulted by local physicians and businessmen has stated that there is no further cause for alarm. According to Dr Spellman, the lack of any additional cases for over a fortnight is proof that the hysterical dementia, which has lately afflicted the great downtown hotels of our city, is past.
Hotel owners have arranged a meeting this evening for the convenience of the press, at which Dr. Spellman will officially present his findings to press and public.
Great relief is expected in the public understanding that, what-ever the cause, this mysterious malady has been dealt with by physicians working closely with local business leaders, to the benefit of all citizens.

Orphan Asylum Holocaust
Fire Sweeps The Catholic
_____Orphan Asylum______
No lives were lost, by a seeming miracle, as dozens of panic-stricken orphans fled the old Catholic Orphan Asylum in the Potrero district last night.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but Archbishop Blair has stated that a lack of funds had led to the asylum being over-burdened with the number of its charges. The Archbishop believes that this led to unsafe overcrowding.
Mrs. Miranda Otto of 857 Indiana St. was awakened at 10:30 PM by the cries of some forty orphans who had taken to the street outside the Orphan Asylum, and who were being rounded up by several nuns, intent on preserving them from the winter cold. ***
