Quietly released by Chaosium on Wednesday, Cthulhu by Gaslight sees its 3rd edition after a near quarter century hiatus.

As the name suggests, Cthulhu by Gaslight is a Call of Cthulhu supplement that allows for roleplaying in the world of 1890s England. The first and second editions appeared in 1986 and 1988 respectively and so it's a welcome sight to see the release of a new edition in what many consider to be an underserved setting for Call of Cthulhu.

Cthulhu by Gaslight is currently available as a PDF directly from Chaosium, no doubt with a print edition to follow shortly. As for what's new in the 3rd edition, the following YSDC thread may also shed a little light (along with some typographical discussion).

After 17 episodes, YSDC's Shadows by Gaslight game (Shadows of Yog-Sothoth set in the Victorian period) comes to its conclusion.

Find out how the intrepid group fare as they approach "the other island" and what great fate awaits them there.

All episodes are available to download from Yog-Sothoth, so if you would like to hear how one particular group tackled this, the very first Call of Cthulhu campaign (indeed, first ever supplement) then you can now listen to it all in one go.

A big thank you to Helen who acted as Keeper of Arcane Lore and who can now return to the other side of the screen as the Innsmouth House Players begin Beyond the Mountains of Madness, 2nd edition!

A bit of a bumper week for Lovecraft-inspired audio, with two new album releases featuring music by Allicorn.

Released on 14th February, At the Mountains of Madness is an album inspired by HPL's eponymous tale, while Fungi from Yuggoth (released on the 15th) sees the reading of H.P. Lovecraft's famous sonnet cycle set to music.

Both albums are available as high quality digital downloads, with Fungi also providing a 25 page booklet.

If you're after more Lovecraft-inspired aural endeavours, these may be just the ticket!

Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land, a mobile game for the iOS platform from Red Wasp Design is now out. We first reported on the mobile game last May and 30th January marks its release in the iTunes store.

Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land is a turn-based strategy RPG set in the trenches of World War I (returning to the horror of Lovecraft's Herbert West: Reanimator) and features nine 3D levels where you control "a team of up to six Investigators charged with uncovering a deadly inhuman conspiracy underlying the clash of empires of the Great War."...

The game's designer is Tomas Rawlings, who many will remember as the author of the Dark Mirror monograph for Call of Cthulhu.

One year leads into another as News from Pnakotus returns for 2012 with episode 24 ("Antidote for the Commonplace").

Once again we delve into the Lovecrafian and Cthulhu news that crosses our path, whether it's talking about the new Whisperer in Darkness DVD, Five years of HotOE, Black Wings (2 & 3) or even Cthulhu: The Funksical.

Today, (25th January) marks the fifth anniversary of the beginning of the Innsmouth House Players' idiosyncratic version of Horror on the Orient Express.

In actual fact we started with Randy McCall's The Auction - a "one-nighter" that ran to four sessions, providing an indicator of just how long it would take the group to play through the campaign (along with the odd shopping stop and restaurant visit).
