• Lynn Willis Passes Away

Lynn Willis - Chaosium Editor.I found out yesterday that Lynn Willis, long-time staff member and Call of Cthulhu line editor for Chaosium had passed away.

His name was one that will always be etched on my memory from the myriad Call of Cthulhu publications he helped produce throughout the game's history (and my childhood). Lynn was also exceedingly helpful and supportive during the early days of YSDC, his responses invariably kind and thoughtful (and this appears quite typical from the replies to the news).

He will be greatly missed and our condolences go out to to his family at this sad time.

Due to ill health, Lynn retired from Chaosium in 2008, but before then I had the pleasure of interviewing him on a couple of occasions (about his work on Call of Cthulhu, including Masks of Nyarlathotep).

Lynn also worked on many of the game lines that Chaosium produced over the years and his effect on the hobby (and Call of Cthulhu in particular) remains profound.

    Thank you, Lynn.

Ah damn. The world is once more a smaller place than it was.

I would have liked to have met the man whose name is so well represented on my shelves.

We were playing Call of Cthulhu at the time of your passing without knowledge of this. Thank you for providing us with a game system we enjoy and return to time and time again above any other. With sympathy and respect to family and friends.
