During that time this multi-award winning game has enchanted and entertained countless thousands, which it continues to do to this day. For an RPG that is nominatively in its 6th edition the game has stayed remarkably consistent over three decades (which is something few others can attest to).
Without the publication of Call of Cthulhu this web site would not exist and it is a testament to the nature of this, the first investigative RPG that 30 years on there is such love, community and public support for Sandy Petersen's game.
Happy birthday Call of Cthulhu!
If you're interested in reading some of the early history of Call of Cthulhu, then Sandy's Designer's Notes (and also those of Lynn Willis - originally published in Different Worlds) provide a fascinating insight.
If you're a YSDC Patron you can hear Sandy talk about Call of Cthulhu in the Yog Radio archives and also listen to a 25th anniversary chat going into more depth and background to the original roleplaying game of "Horror and Wonder".
Here's to the next 30 years!
