  • 30 Years of Call of Cthulhu

    Call of Cthulhu 1st edition cover imageToday (13th November) marks the 30th anniversary of Chaosium's seminal roleplaying game of Lovecraftian investigation.

    During that time this multi-award winning game has enchanted and entertained countless thousands, which it continues to do to this day. For an RPG that is nominatively in its 6th edition the game has stayed remarkably consistent over three decades (which is something few others can attest to).

    Without the publication of Call of Cthulhu this web site would not exist and it is a testament to the nature of this, the first investigative RPG that 30 years on there is such love, community and public support for Sandy Petersen's game.

    If you're interested in reading some of the early history of Call of Cthulhu, then Sandy's Designer's Notes (and also those of Lynn Willis - originally published in Different Worlds) provide a fascinating insight.

      Happy Anniversary, dear game which mangles, kills, torments and drives all my characters to madness & ruin. You don't have to be crazy to play this game, but it helps!
